51st Anniversary

51 Years On: Remembering the Birmingham Pub Bombings

On this day, 51 years ago—21st November—Birmingham was forever changed. Two IRA bombs were planted in the Mulberry Bush and the Tavern in the Town, killing 21 innocent people and injuring 220 others.

The first bomb detonated at 8:17pm inside the Mulberry Bush. Ten minutes later, a second explosion tore through the Tavern in the Town. The devastation that followed remains one of the darkest moments in the city’s history.

Birmingham will not rest until justice is finally done.
Rest in peace to the 21.

Today, a new plaque has been unveiled at Aston Villa Football Club to honour the victims, their families, and all those injured and affected by this appalling attack. This joins the existing memorials—the Trees of Remembrance in Birmingham City Centre and the plaque at Birmingham City Football Club—ensuring the 21 are remembered across the city they loved.

We, the families, will never stop fighting for justice. With the support of our community, we remain unwavering in our belief that right will be done.

Our annual memorial service took place at St Philip’s Cathedral at 5:45pm on Friday, 21st November. Some pictures are below and thank you to all those that attended.

50th Anniversary

50 Years On: Remembering the Birmingham Pub Bombings

As we mark the 50th anniversary of the Birmingham Pub Bombings, we pause to honour the 21 lives tragically cut short that night. These individuals were sons, daughters, siblings, and friends—innocent souls taken far too soon.

We also pay tribute to the families, who for half a century have fought tirelessly for truth, justice, and accountability. Despite the passage of time, no one has ever been brought to justice for this atrocity—Britain’s largest unsolved mass murder. Together, we remember, we demand justice, and we work to ensure that such a tragedy is never repeated.

On behalf of Justice4the21 we would like to express our sincere thanks to Sir Albert Bore, his team (John Cotton, Chris Rice et al) and Clivedon Conservation for organising the conservation maintenance that has taken place on the Birmingham Pub Bombings Memorial in St Philips Churchyard.

The Memorial looks refreshed and the names of our loved one’s are gleaming in Gold for all to see as they walk by.

It is rather apt that the Memorial Service took place around the Memorial Stone where each of the victims’ names will be clearly visible for all those paying their respects.

This year’s Memorial is tool place on Thursday 21 November at 6:00pm.

We will remember those we lost so tragically.
